From theory to application to artistry, the PreGel Professional Training Center offers an unparalleled educational experience focused on building a culinary and business foundation in authentic Italian gelato, sorbetto, semifreddo, frozen yogurt, pastries, confections and beyond.
Our Legacy
When PreGel opened its Canadian office in 2008, our president and CEO Marco Casol immediately recognized the fundamental need to include training as an integral part of our company's service. As he traveled across the country, he became very aware that the Canadian market had limited exposure to authentic, artisan Italian desserts. The need for education was immense and it quickly became PreGel's legacy to not only provide the highest quality ingredients to the market, but to educate the Canadian public.
Since its inception, the Professional Training Center has trained thousands of students and the growth to date has been tremendous. The Training Center features a classrooms complete with technical training stations and a full spectrum of gelato batch freezers, hot and cold process machines, pastry ovens and display cases representing a wide array of unparalleled equipment found in the industry. Our legacy continues to grow and provide a solid education for students seeking to fulfill their passion.
Our Goals
At the PreGel Professional Training Center, we believe that education is the key to success. Our programs are specifically designed to provide our students with all the tools necessary to be successful in the specialty dessert business. Our students are guaranteed to leave the Center with a wide-range of knowledge, confidence and continued support from our school.
Our goal is to also provide our programs free of charge. We believe that a price should not be placed on education and that passionate individuals should always be able to pursue further learning experiences. Our ability to provide our programs free of charge has absolutely no effect on the quality of our Training Center. In fact, it allows us to strive above and beyond to ensure that we are always providing the top instruction in the country.
Our Program
Our classes are designed for beginners and experienced students alike who are truly seeking a culinary career in specialty desserts. We offer an Introductory Gelato Class and feature various Special Classes. The curriculums for all of our programs include both classroom learning and hands-on instruction. The program of studies covers theory, business planning, production, business and marketing strategies, creative recipe and decorative ideas, and offer liaisons with equipment companies.
Our Introductory Gelato Classes stresses the core concepts of classic Italian desserts produced with our products and give a broad understanding of the business. Various Special Classes are offered throughout the year to provide more in-depth knowledge on specific subjects. Some of these Special Classes include Frozen Yogurt, Pastry and Frozen Desserts and a variety of other classes highlighting frozen desserts and pastry items in diverse applications.
Our Success
Empowering each of our students to find success is the ultimate goal of the PreGel Professional Training Center and that goes well beyond classroom instruction. We believe in supporting our students throughout every stage of their careers. While building the culinary and business foundations for our students starts with our training, we also believe that reinforcements are needed as their endeavors grow. We encourage all of our students to continually use us as a resource.
